Blog Tour | THE COLLECTORS' SOCIETY | Review Stop [Giveaway]

The Blog Tour for Heather Lyons' latest adult romance (fairy tale) The Collectors' Society kicks off today. My tour stop involves a review which you will be able to read in a bit. First...

About The Collectors' Society:

From the author of the Fate series and The Deep End of the Sea comes a fantastical romantic adventure that has Alice tumbling down the strangest rabbit hole yet.

After years in Wonderland, Alice has returned to England as an adult, desperate to reclaim sanity and control over her life. An enigmatic gentleman with an intriguing job offer too tempting to resist changes her plans for a calm existence, though. Soon, she’s whisked to New York and initiated into the Collectors’ Society, a secret organization whose members confirm that famous stories are anything but straightforward and that what she knows about the world is only a fraction of the truth.

It’s there she discovers villains are afoot—ones who want to shelve the lives of countless beings. Assigned to work with the mysterious and alluring Finn, Alice and the rest of the Collectors’ Society race against a doomsday clock in order to prevent further destruction . . . but will they make it before all their endings are erased?

My question: There is going to be a next book, right?

Where do I start with this book? I immensely enjoyed it. I was in freaking awe when the story unfolded. The concept behind this story is sooooo cool. The plot in itself is unique naturally. I wanted to jump with joy when I unraveled the novel chapter by chapter.

The book follows an adult Alice who is asked to join a society known as The Collectors' Society. Alice finds herself in New York years after her actual year back home. She finds herself learning what the Society  and its members are about. And then helping along with the danger that numerous stories are facing. And in that pursuit she goes back to Wonderland where things are not what she was promised to when she left. We get to see her past and present/future love interest. We get to see her fierceness and an Alice as we may never have seen her.

The story is told solely from Alice's perspective and it was glorious. I had so much fun while getting to know her and the world around her through her. I would love to know her and the others. I loved how different characters from (famous) stories were characters in this book. It's always soooo cool to see characters mingle. Gah. I loved loved all the characters. I won't be revealing much about the other characters (or the book) as reading it will be more cooler for you to read and unravel for yourself. This book was funny at times. Interesting throughout.

I loved how Heather wrote this one. She is also another author with a different writing style in each book that she writes. (I have read The Deep End of the Sea and had enjoyed that one immensely, too.) The memory bits infused within Alice's usual tellings was an excellent idea which was making me feel curious and just excited in general. Another plus point the freaking cover.

So yes, I suggest you guys don't miss this one. It will be an awesome one-of-a-kind experience.

Next course of action for me: (Re)-Read this fab book and also her Fate books.
Ms. Lyons, I am onto you. (;

Rating:

P.S. TCS is part of a series but can be taken as a stand-alone as things end but I would rather see more of this world and its characters. :p

About Heather Lyons:
Heather Lyons has always had a thing for words—she’s been writing stories since she was a kid. In addition to writing, she’s also been an archaeologist and a teacher. Heather is a rabid music fan, as evidenced by her (mostly) music-centric blog, and she’s married to an even larger music snob. They’re happily raising three kids who are mini music fiends who love to read and be read to.
